I know that I haven’t been posting for a while

But life has been quite extremely busy. Trying to balance life, work, photography, and a great Summer has been quite a challenge. After a short hiatus from posting on my blog site, I am now ready to showcase one of my most recent projects in commercial photography: D’ANGEL handbags. As described on their site, D’ANGEL specializes in the design of contemporary and exotic skin handbags. The premiere collection was launched in 2005 by a pair of fashion designers who wanted to create chic and sexy handbags that would look fashionable at any time of day. Well, without further a due, please enjoy my new work, posted under D’ANGEL Handbags.

The importance of proper makeup application for a photo shoot

Posted in Photography with tags , on January 26, 2009 by danielchandra

I cannot stress more of how important proper makeup application for a photo shoot is. Although I am a big fan of the so called natural beauty, a proper makeup application for a photo shoot is necessary. Unlike our eyes, a camera is by far less sensitive in capturing the light. It lacks the sensitivity of human eyes in contrast differentiation. For example, in plain simple mathematical explanation, if our eyes contrast ratio comes in the incremental of, ¼, a camera’s contrast ratio comes in the incremental of 1. As you can see, a camera will not be able to detect and to capture the proper contrast of an image as well as our eyes. It will always try to either round the contrast ratio up or down to make a whole number.

So what does that translate to in makeup application? It means that you need to have a more contrast makeup application, close to what a camera can capture/differentiate. In other words, you will need to apply more than the day-to-day makeup application for a photo shoot. This is when a makeup artist plays his or her important role. I believe that a makeup artist who has undergone proper training and has experience in photo shoot makeup will be a valuable investment you can make for your photo shoot. But, if you prefer to do it yourself, there are some websites on the internet that teach you how. One of the websites that I find particularly useful is from Expert Village.

Cheers!

So help me..

choose the best suited picture for my site. I have been tinkering around with my image header so much that I think it’s time for me to look for other opinions. But, just before you jump the gun and pick your favorite, keep in mind that I need to use a picture that depicts the kind of service I have to offer to any of my clients: friendly, cooperative, professional, creative, and fun. Or, you can just pick the one that you like the most. :)

With that being said, you may now choose.
Once you have made up your mind, please leave a comment to inform me of your choice.

Welcome to my photography site/blog/whatever you want to call it. As I am still trying to figure out how to build an actual nice/fancy/user friendly/professional photography website, I guess this will do for now. I should thank my friend, David Graff (a.k.a. Graffix), for bugging me on the progress of my website project (or the lack of it). Without his constant “How’s the website coming?” question, this site/blog won’t exist. So, thanks Graffix! Anyway, although there will be some periodical rambling on random things, this blog is mostly dedicated to showcase my photography portfolio. I have organized the photos based on the name of the person. Please click any of  the names listed somewhere in this page to look at their photos. Thank you and enjoy!

Cheers!

Hello 2009!

Posted in General with tags , on January 1, 2009 by danielchandra

Happy new year y’all!

2009 has just arrived. I can’t believe how fast 2008 has gone by! It seems just like yesterday when I was still waiting for my Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) application to be approved. And long before I realized it, I’ve been back in Canada for over eight months. Wow!

I remember writing down my visions at the beginning of 2008. Out of the four visions I wrote, I achieved only one. The other three are still work in progress. Am I dissapointed then? Definitely NO! I was aiming for the stars, and instead I landed on the moon. Even though I did not achieve all the visions I wrote, the experience itself has definitely opened up my eyes to the power of vision. Never in my life that I became so focus like I was in 2008.

And now that 2009 is here, I am starting my first hours of the new year by jotting down my three visions for end of the year.

And just before I get too focus on my visions, I just want to wish y’all a very blessed 2009!

Don’t forget to keep on checking back!
